The fitness assessment establishes baseline information about your current
fitness level. With follow-up assessments, we can monitor the progress you
make with your exercise program.
Body Composition
Body Mass Index (BMI) is determined by measuring height and weight. Body
fat percentage is estimated by using two methods: skinfold calipers and
Bioelectrical Impedance Method (BIM). Girth measurements are recorded.
Cardiorespiratory Fitness
Resting Heart Rate (HR) is taken and HRmax is estimated. Resting blood
pressure is also measured. Depending on your fitness level, a submaximal
VO2 might be administered.
Muscular Strength and Endurance
A variety of exercise tests (push-ups, curl-ups, etc.) that are
appropriate for you can help us determine your muscular strength and
endurance when compared to gender and age norms.
